Date: Mon, 09 Aug 2010 21:54:04 +1000 Thank you for your note which has been copied to me. I am no longer responsible for the Twickenham URC website but was the author of the page in question. When I was researching the history of the church in the late 1970s I also tried to find out as much as possible about the British School but the only information made available to me was that which is cited on the page; I was told that the records that might have provided further information had been destroyed, thus the statement. Ideally I would have liked to been able to consult a continuous run of annual reports for the 1834-1910 period to see what data was recorded, also other society records for 1834-5 when Lady Shaw (whose name attaches to the school) became so by marriage and the school was presumably formed. Although it appears that my researches were curtailed by missing records, I appreciate your comment that this is not reflective of the wider archive so by copy of this email to Jonathan Marten, current webmaster, I confirm my agreement to the statement being deleted.
